could I have gotten a ( computer ) virus?

a couple of minutes ago I got a blank email from a friend that was sent to a group of people, could anything have been sent over that?

whats a good free virus scanner? I don't know if I have anything worthwhile on here or not.

Houscall works well,Trend Micro also have another online scan called system clean, not sure if its free or you need to have a liscensed version of PC-Cillan but it scans the entire system in safe mode, at a much slower rate
I am currently using PC-Cillan , came with the mother board so figured I'd try it, so far I am happy with it, updates likely 3 times a week, works well

I got an email from a friend that contained bkdr.deloder.a
Pc- Cillan quarantined it, I called them to tell them they have a virus, he said no way, Nortons would have got it, even said Nortons is fully updated all the time, so no way it was from me
but his was the only email I recieved at that time
Pc-Cillan telephone support is very good as well.
They suggested to me to; go into Outlook , View, Layout, click off Show preview pane because technically with the preview pane open, the email is open

well scans already found a trojan but that might have been there since first year (couple of dumbass friends of mine), I'll have to email my friend to let her know.

Holy SH*T - I had 25. Too much porn surfing I guess. All the viruses were rated low risk and most were JavaScript Exceptions. I must admit, I was a little concerned when I saw one virus after another being found. BTW it took about an hour to scan approximately 130,000 files.
