As an investment or to live in?

Is it ready to move in or are they still building?

Be carefull of promised move in dates.

A friend of mine bought a condo/townhome down there and was promised a move in date of June 1st this year. After many delays he can move in at last end of this month. In the mean time from June till now since he had given notice etc where he was before he has had to live on his parents couch.

nah, getb a condo at spadina/harbourfront..like near the CN Tower
That project is a ghetto. You're much better off anywhere on King West. However, you are really better off renting if it's only for a few years. Run the numbers- you can't compare the difference.

I'm in King West. The prices have been slowly increasing for the past 4 or so years since I moved in and hasn't seemed to be hurt by the newer buildings. The area seems to have a bit of a residential area feel to me somehow but there are still a lot of businesses around. I'd check how sales are going in DNA and the new/continual development in the Liberty Village project. If they're still selling well, there's some money to be made and I like the area.

Just take some time to figure out what direction you want to face.

Not a ghetto, yet, but who knows in future. I can think of way better places to buy to move into or invest. Personally I find all those condos around the dome unattractive, poorly constructed, and they're still building more to the west towards Bathurst. Way too many condos in such a small area, I'll pass and keep looking a bit further west.

Seems lots of places are having that problem! i was supposed to move in Sept. 1..then it was moved to Dec. 23....now, its March...but I have been looking at my very own hole in the ground since September:D
That sucks, the construction of my new townhouse was delayed by only a month and I almost strangled the agent. I had to pay extra to keep my interest rate locked or it would have gone up. Did you have to do the same?
