'Condom snorting' is the latest teen challenge fad

MIAMI - If you thought the Tide Pod Challenge was ridiculous, wait until you get a load of the newest disturbing fad sweeping the nation.

Viral videos of condom snorting... yes, condom snorting... are all over social media and give parents another thing to be worried about.

In condom snorting, teens take an unwrapped condom and put it up their noses. The teens then inhale the condom until it comes out of their mouth, reports USA Today.

While not an old challenge, it has become more popular in recent weeks.

Due to choking hazards, condom snorting is dangerous and could cause serious health issues and death.

My first impression was that... snorting the contents of a used condom. It struck me as a odd, but I'm sure there's a small number of folks doing that.

I must have read "unwrapped" as the condom still being inside the wrapper. The picture also shows them in a wrapper. Whether wrapped or not, I can't imagine sticking a condom all the way up my nose so that it exits in my throat.

Is this really sweeping the nation or are we just talking about a handful of idiots on YouTube? I don't think this generation of teens is any worse than past ones. I remember some people in my high school back in the 90's who could have probably been talked into doing something stupid like this. Of course back then we didn't have social media so their antics only annoyed people locally instead of globally.
