The Brick has a place in College Park that specializes in Condo furniture
"Urban Brick" at College Park... nice store and everything they carry is meant for small spaces but depending on your budget it's not that cheap.
Ikea for cost-cutting. If you mix Ikea with a few well-placed higher-end items, you can de-Ikea it a bit. The main problem with Ikea is walking into other people's homes and realizing everyone has the same furniture as you lol but they are the masters of small space furnishings.
Honestly - sounds funny but I've seen some nice things at the Canadian Tire and Bay and Dundas... they seem to carry a larger selection of furniture than other Canadian Tires I've been to.
Craigslist. I have a friend who furnished her entire condo on a tight budget with almost brand-new furniture. She purchased a ton of stuff from a guy who was flipping homes - everything was almost-new. If you keep an eye out you can really score some nice things on there.
And for funky furniture and the other dressings that make your
place a
home - def Queen West and Homesense
