I am interested in purchasing a subscription so if there are any techies out there that can suggest a good general magazine on softeware,systems etc can you let me know.
Iwas thinking of PC Today or Smart Computing. Would appreciate any suggestions.

I subscribe to PC World, but they have a high emphasis on windows and products for windows. Since I work on windows machines, I actually can take it off my taxes. I guess it is okay for trends, new products and quick fixes, but as I said, mostly (if not all) Windows based systems.

I never miss an issue of Windows.net magazine.
Once known as WindowsNT mag, then Windows 2000 mag.

Of course it is fairly specific to windows but it is a very good resource if you are looking for networking/windows related info.

RISKS [a threat assessment and management mag]

and of course, to offset all that painfully dry reading,

MAXIM and FHM [trashy popculture fashion mags]
