Hi All
Anyone have any experience or suggestions on a commercial type telephone voice mail set up without an elaborate phone system?
looking for 2 line capable, press 1 for English, press 2 for French then perhaps a couple of layers beneath that. nothing real fancy , voice mail recorded to a computer could be an asset so that voice mails could be forwarded to people via email but not absolutely necessary . Incoming messages will be received on either of 2 lines, mail boxes would need to be accessed via both lines. in other words a message that came in on line 1 needs to be accessed via both lines .

thanks in advance

You have the choice of buying a standalone system, or installing the software and a hardware card into a PC. Just be careful about determining whether you want FXS or FXO termination; google if need be.

I'd probably recommend going with the PC card solution (maybe configured with 2 FXS and 2 FXO and hardware echo cancellation with PCI-Express, around $750).

If you've looked it over and still can't quite make sense of it, let us know and we'll work through it together to put together a couple choices for you.
