Why does a mammogram cost the ladies nothing, YET, a prostrate test costs $35.00?

Breast cancer has better advocacy. You don't see parades and events dealing with prostate cancer awareness.
You're close. The reason is that a majority of men love breasts but don't share the same fondness for other weird men's rear ends.

I assume you're speaking from experience?

The question still stands and, with all sincerity, I'd love to hear some solid input!

During the last exam my doctor got mad at me when I screamed out another doctor's name.

They charge for this examination?

This reminds me of the prostate exam scene in Fletch with Chevy Chase.

Classic.

Ok! A work associate of mine, 42 years old, just died as a result of prostrate cancer. He never had any tests.

My point was to make people aware of the situation.

Ask why doesn't the government pay for such a live saving test.

Hopefully get some intuitive answers!

Hmmm if you were a doctor where would you rather put your hand?
As for an intuitive answer I can only say what I have said.

OHIP will cover abortions, some sex change procedures (soon to be all I'm sure) but won't cover eye tests for those under 65, physiotherapy and PSA tests. Does anyone else see something wrong here

Well, yeah...I do know women who like to have their tits squished up.

Buddy, my second answer was entirely serious. Rich men are the largest contributors and deciders of medical spending and policy. As such, it is easier for them to sign on to covering the saving of breasts over another man's hairy rear end (especially when these men all can afford the $35). I once had a guy who wrote for a medical journal tell me that penile cancer treatment won't improve significantly compared to breast treatments until a woman develops it because men are only interested in saving breasts. Probably some sociological reason for it like a deep-seeded homophobia transferred via rearing and society, but the result is still that you pay for the PSA until enough men get organized and demand more. But seeing as most men don't regularly go to a doctor anyways, I don't see it happening without a charter court case.

It's been good to know ya
Many men have lost sisters, mothers and wives to breast cancer and have stepped up in support of breast cancer awareness and have brought us to where we are today. I would not complain about it at least there is something that is free.

I remember when I was a young girl my Mom used to tell me the only thing that is free is air, well I see that even the air in a gas station is not free anymore and I feel that is a shame.

The Gov't wants to get their finger in the pie. If a prostate massage can be pleasure to a man, they figure the examine will be too, therefore guys will have to pay for it, like they pay for HJs at the MP.

If a guy is willing to pay $40 for 30 minute massage, and tip on top, then he can afford a $35 fee from the doc.

They do, it is covered under the healthcare system. That is, if you are elligible for coverage that is. If you don't have a healthcard you have to pay for ALL medical exams.....

BTW: they only cover like 1 a year. If you go every week to 52 different doctors then that's recreation and they don't cover that....
