When CL died the whole north dried up. There used to be fresh independents here every week. Hopefully spring brings the girls once school is out.

I think we need to pull together an advertising fund for ladies to use when coming north. For whatever reason they don't seem willing to pay for a backpage ad and duttlist is just plain slow.

I am still betting that there will be an abundance of ladies starting in May.

Yep, the on again, off again part-timers don't want to lay down cash for advertising. Something has to be done.

I can't speak for Collingwood, but Barrie is usually good for established independents that have a good history on one of the boards. If you venture north again make sure that you post a link to a review in your ad and use the same name. That way guys can quickly confirm your are legit. We do get our share of SP's that come up here with fake pics after getting run out of Toronto.

I wonder if part time girls in The 'Wood have trouble with backpage because you need to have a mastercard. That can make it more difficult. I know when I was in Collingwood there was very little need for a mastercard. The town works very well on cash and there is more than enough to do without a card with the mountain and beach. Is there enough business in Collingwood to bother being a paid advertiser? I would think the small town mentality would make it hard for SPs and clients. Although, the mountain area is more busy and less risk, but still not always discreet.

Does anyone know if there is truth to the idea of a SC in the area. I know the last one that was in had a hell of a time getting permits. With the building finally being taken down you would think they would fight harder to keep the town SC free. Run by the right people it might have a fighting chance though. But Barrie is only a stone throw away, you would think business sense would take them there or even Wasaga. Where are they hoping their clients would come from? the locals? or the ski tourists? lol.

I just mean it isn't always easy to keep life secrets in Collingwood. Like where you work, what you do all day. Nosey neighbours. Different than city living. It is a rather small town. Living there people tend to know your business. I have heard of doctors telling other patients about my appointments. Wonder what they would say if I came in for STD testing every three months.

Didn't mean to offend. Collingwood kicks ass!

There is no way Collingwood or The Town of Blue Mountains will allow a strip club while the current council members are in office. Both towns are extremely conservative. The councils have lost the town tons of cash by enforcing business facade bylaws, building height restrictions etc.
In the area it's "all about image"and a strip club would get all the old biddies knickers in a twist. Craiglieth in particular is trying very hard to become the Aspen of the north......sorry guys but I can't see it happening IMHO...
As far as the small town mentality comment....that is dead on..no need to be politically correct , have an opinion and stick to it. I personally knew one of the two young girls who advertised services in town....she used a phone number that was in her moms name and is from a very long established area family.... It took me less than a minute to figure out who it was. That is typical small town. My neighbours know when I go to work, when I have guests, I never see them watching, but they do. That's just reality.
The only "safe" way to be an SP here is to visit and do the random motel thing. But with CL gone, you might as well be winking in the dark. Conservative censorship wins again.....free country.....ok lol
Ok, rant over

Indeed. Which is why I find the idea so funny. Maybe they did approve and plan to let it go up as fast as the new Bank of Montreal they tore down Admerial Public School for. Sooooo we should expect to see it in about 10 years?? if it is only one floor and not within two blocks of a church.

why is a stripbar such a negative idea,,,,I challenge Mayor Cooper, ( a female} to allow free enterprise to flourish in such a stagnated downtrodden business enviornment known as the Town of Collingwood,,,We have probably the worst shopping center on the planet,,The local Walmart is a Joke,,,the bars are deadish,,I heard a local girl complaining there is no place to dance in this stupid town,,do we all have to travel to Barrie or further south your worship mayor Cooper?...SURE lets cater to the family units,,but what about the single man with lots of $$$ to spend?,..,.Where does he go on a Saturday night in the barren town of Collingwood?...Beaver and the bulldog? lol,,,

Unfortunately the last strip club in Collindwood wasn't the best example of Enterprise. Techniqually they can say they have tried already. Not sure if you remember but it brought a lot of "low income" into the downtown area, including drugs and weapons charges. If you ask me - a small town is not the best place for an establishment like that to florish. The selection of ladies applying (think downtown young single moms) does not bring in the overhead it takes to run the place unless the person running it has a very good start and an already established reputation. Otherwise it turns into a gathering place for people doing shady business. Hard to have a velvet rope policy when you have less than 15 customers a night. I actually think that something just outside of town might work better. Out on the Highway but not too far from the Mountain. Might bring in some of the ski people. Younger boys, timeshare holders, marine people who just don't want to make the trip into a quite town to finish off the night.

yes the last stripbar was the Georgian, a true definition of trailer park trash run by local hillbillies and frequented often by local migrant workers, local alcoholics, a breeding ground for old west style fist fighting on a Saturday nite. Collingwood needs Toronto ownership someone who appreciates the class of a gentlemans club,,,I dont mind paying a premium for quality women and entertainment,,,Alas I think its only a dream, unless John Sit would like to further his horizons,,then again some of his clubs need upgrades,,,lol

Re small town. At one time there was a strip bar in Eugenia pop about 150. It was located in the (get this) Beaver Valley Motel. The motel burnt down a few years ago. They put a few sheets of plywood over the pool table. The dancers would climb up onto the pool table using a chair. I think some of the patrons could actually read and write but I'm not sure.
