Are these coffee machines safe to use, like will the coffee make you sick or what? How clean can these machines be inside, maybe they are full of bacteria or crud. And is there any law that says they must be replaced after X amount of years for sanitary reasons?

I heard that if you open one up you will see cob webs and fungus and mold inside. A guy once told me that he was given the job to clean up a meat slicer at a grocery store deli counter and he nearly threw up when he opened it up.
