Code at the top of the Forum page

Above the title-bar graphics for https://terb.cc is a line of code that only appears on the Forum page (which the URL calls …/index.php). It`s been there for quite some time, and it seems today`s the day that everything I have to do is less attractive than to ask if anyone else sees it (Firefox on MacOs) and what it might be doing—or failing to do—while being visible and all:

It's just a fragment of a javascript script that adjusts the size of columns and stuff after your page loads. Not sure why you're seeing it but it can't hurt anything.

Doesn't show up on my Mac in either Firefox or Safari. Your Firefox either needs updating or more likely, there's a plugin breaking something.

Nothing to worry overmuch about.

This is layout code for the page. Upgrade your version of Firefox and you won't see it anymore.

The parser is not interpreting the script correctly, probably because of incorrect opening or closing double quotes, and displaying the script as text. The newer HTML5 parser in Firefox automatically "fixes" this and renders the script as intended.

If you want more detail, let me know.

Thanks, it sounds like an answer to me. I can live with it, but I wondered.

I've come to the conclusion that upgrades just give me more broken stuff to fix, harmonize, learn and get used to—the Lion stories f'rinstance— so now I wait until there's something I really want to do and can't to give me incentive.
