Rumor has it Peja Stojakovic wants out of Sacramento - I'd trade VC for him in a second.

but from the reports on tsn last night VC's agent has asked the raptors to trade him , and he wants to go to new york, but new york just completed the trade with the bulls for crawford.

Seems like the Raps new GM can put his own stamp on the team if he can find the right deal. I think I see a package deal coming, perhaps Vince and MoPete......

Peja gets paid 7 million dollars next year. Vince Carter's contract is 12 million. The rules state that inorder for a trade to be made, the players salaries must be within 15 percent of each other. So sac would have to package Peja with someone else to matchup with Vince's contract. The new GM is not going to trade vince unless we get something benificial, he doesn't want to trade vince for the sake of keeping him happy.

How 'bout Vince Carter & Alvin Williams for Kurt Thomas & Jamal Crawford? Don't know if the contracts would match that closely. I think Chicago cleared up cap space in the trade ... would anyone want Tyson Chandler as part of some package?

Supposedly, RAPs are interested in 7'1" Loren Woods. The thought of Araujo/Moiso/Woods doesn't scare me.

How bout NO shin. I must admit that Crawford is good but no where near the talent level we'll lose if we trade carter. I like the VC for Peja trade better and maybe sac can throw in some one else to fill in the salary gap.

The thing is, Peja and Ray Allen may put up similar numbers as carter, but they are far from possessing the talent that Carter has. His athleticism is untouchable. He got those numbers last year half assing his way through things. That's what is so frustrating about Carter, all the talent in the world, yet wants to just settle..

Unfortunately,

IMO I would sooner take a player who has heart over an underachiever. Because eventually that player becomes poison in the dressing room and sets a bad climate for younger, more eager players.

Give me a team of role players with heart and desire anyday (ooops ....would that be the Pistons).
