Clearing History in IE6

My SO has the annoying habit of using the Back buttton too much. So, I need to be diligent about clearing my history!!

Is there a setting or a one button thing that can delete the history and offine files? In older Windows versions, there was TweakUI which had a paranoia tab but I have not found the equivalent for XP Home.

The ideal solution would be that when I close IE, it flushes the history without a bunch of "are you sure" prompts. That way, when I hear the SO coming, I just close IE.

Just install IE privacy keeper. Used it for years.

This is a good tool and I have installed it. It is better than me manually doing it through tools , options and the "are you sure" prompts.

However, I am still looking for something more subtle (no desktop icon) that I do not have to explain to the SO. Just the other night, she surprised me coming into the room and I quickly moved to delete the history. She asks why am I doing that?

My ideal solution is a tweak that IE just flushes history when you close it. Like flush_history_on_close = 1 or something like that. That way, it gets done every session and you don't have to remember.

I will try Firefox again. I installed it and tried this very thing but I guess the default settings do not flush history.

Thanks fellow hobbyists !

in firefox go to options and then privacy. then tick the option that says clear my private data when you close firefox and uncheck the box that says ask me before clearing data. also make sure to uncheck all 3 options under the history subsection on the same tab.
That is a perfect solution!!!!! And the ctrl-shift-del way to invoke it at any time is exactly what I want.

Thanks again guys.
