Hey Guys,

I'm a rookie with investing. I have a handful of mutual funds that I've been dabbling with. I was just wondering...for this upcoming year, how is the Nasdaq supposed to do? I have a stake in CIBC Nasdaq Index Fund and it's done really well for me over the last few years. Should I up my stake by buying more for 2021??? What do you think? Please help and thanks in advance. P.S. pls don't tell me to buy individual stocks as I'm not comfortable with that idea yet.

Thanks for the input! I might up my stake in the Nasdaq a bit for the year. The bulk of what I own is a 'safe', balanced index fund --typically-5% to 7% annual returns which I'm comfortable with and happy about but it's a little frustrating to see the nasdaq index fund pulling in ~20% annually for the last five years.

Blackrock offers their own set of Etfs some of which track the nasdaq 100 or the Sp500. They also offer complete etfs of various stock to bond ratios that invest in domestic, US and international markets (ie XBAL offers 60/40 split of stocks bonds) all while not eating you alive with fees that would be charged in a mutual fund. No one should be buying mutual funds in this day and age for how much they charge you. Personally I'm putting a bit more into tech stocks but if playing it safe, a general market fund will do you fine

That's all we ever have, is this moment. Nobody knows what will happen tomorrow or even next minute. WE can only go by what a trend is doing.

“An object at rest stays at rest and an object in motion stays in motion with the same speed and in the same direction unless acted upon by an unbalanced force.”

^^^ Sounds familiar ?
That was precisely my point. I'm glad you got it.
I would add those with inside information would know what will happen next minute.

Any information the retail investor gets is already too late.
