Actually, millions of Japanese troops did surrender to the Americans after September 2, 1945. No, they weren't tortured.

UN Special Rapporteur on Human Rights and Counter-Terrorism Ben Emmerson said that senior officials from the administration of George W Bush who planned and sanctioned crimes must be prosecuted, as well as CIA and US government officials responsible for torture such as waterboarding.

"As a matter of international law, the US is legally obliged to bring those responsible to justice," Mr Emmerson said in a statement made from Geneva.

"The US attorney general is under a legal duty to bring criminal charges against those responsible."

And German troops in at the death in Europe in many places actually tried to FIGHT THEIR WAY through to US/CAN/UK/FR etc lines rather than surrender to the Soviets. We were not perfect, but to assert our behavior in WWII or present is on a comparable level of brutality to our enemies is absurd.

Lee Harvey Oswald made a phone call to John Hurt, an Army Intelligence guy in N.C., USA, but Hurt never picked up or wasn't in. Marchetti says that Hurt was likely a 'cut-out' for Oswald's CIA handler. But not to expose Oswald's cover, he got not assistance. They abandoned him. Marchetti said if he was called by Oswald, he would've killed him. BTW, in the early sixties, there was a fake defector program in N.C. Oswald could've been a product of that program.
