Stuck in Lodi again
Of course the stores started putting up Christmas decorations and displays right after Halloween, but its seems to me a bit early for everyone else to be decorating their houses already. Christmas is still a month away and lots of houses, at least around here, have had Christmas lights up for several weeks now. Seems to be getting earlier and earlier every year. (Might change next year with higher hydro rates). And one of my neighbours put up a large Christmas tree in their front window last wekend. I hope its fake.

There is even a radio station, the Star 102.5 out of Buffalo that is now playing just Christmas music twenty-four hours a day. I think that by Christmas day they will have played every wierd version of any remotely Christmas type song.

Maybe I am just a Scrooge, but all this Christmas stuff already seems to be rushing the season a bit, IMHO anyway.

It does seem to get earlier each year for putting up decorations. Im a scrooge and hate to see that tacky crap prastered all over houses. I turned onto my street in horror last night when I see my neighbor had put an 8' tall plastic waving snowman on his second floor balcony. That's just stupid.
My friends ex was so onto it that she put up decoration AND THE TREE the day after thanksgiving.

I always wanted to read John Grisham's book Skipping Christmas. Now THAT would be my ideal Christmas.

You got a problem with that? :D
I guess in this day and age that is to be expected. People are just too busy.

Just that when I was a kid... in my home town up north... people took their lights down and put 'em back up every year. Some made it a family activity on a Saturday/Sunday afternoon.

Come to think of it... now that I read Vanessa's post... I did the same one year in my bedroom. I had those flashing multi-color indoor mini lights all around my bedroom. I left 'em up for a couple years actually. I let myself get away with it cause they were only Xmas lights during the season. Rest of the year they were 'mood' lights. lmao.
