An election campaign is a whole other animal. And he is going to have to face off in the debates. He is fine when he is scripted and speaking in generalities. But during the campaign he will come under real scrutiny. You can never tell what will pop up to create challenges.

Exactly. People can disagree on how much compensation they need, and whether some services can even be privatized, but this kind of tripe really just kills the conversation. Right now I would have to disagree. My main concerns with JT are with foreign affairs and economic policy. Some of his foreign affaiirs gaffes at this point are apparent. As to economic policy I've seen very little. Mostly because not much is known. If he plans a carbon tax of any sort then I would be in full attack mode. The same if he resurects a national daycare program.
He is riding high in the polls right now but that is more a function many policies still unclarified on his part. During a campaign he will have to define them. And explain and justify them. Whether he has the ability to do this remains to be seen.
