Ok. How about whatever her reason it worked out in the end as it was right to not attend and stay neutral. Political reasons.
Dont forget she is NDP.
Here is part of NDP's statement on October 7.

For many Canadians, the response to October 7th from Netanyahu’s extremist government, was the beginning of a brutal assault on the people of Gaza, who did not and do not deserve collective punishment. Palestinian, Muslim, and Arab communities in Canada are feeling the weight of immense suffering from the ongoing genocide by Netanyahu’s extremist government that has killed tens of thousands of innocent people, including children. Just as there is no justification for the brutal terror attacks on October 7, there is likewise no justification for the high number of civilian casualties and indiscriminate attacks on the people of Gaza.

It didn't work because her reason was that her staff screwed up and didn't schedule her and she was so immersed in a conversation about bike lanes. Was she lying?

NDP? The same party who kicked out one of their members for supporting Palestine? The hypocrisy is laughable...and predictable.

Public support of Israel, who is currently ethnically cleansing their neighbours, is shitting on the Palestinians, who have had their homes blown up and lost 40 times as many civilians as the Israelis have. Hamas and the Palestinian people supported these initial attacks on Israel.
Now they are suffering the consequences. They will never learn.

They still support them. But that is not what this is about.
Chow most likely did not attend as this is a touchy subject and both communities make up a vote bank for her.

I was replying to a comment about the false statements of Israel.
Well she certainly lost the support of the Jewish community.
But it's also amazing how the other politicians made time for this event and didn't worry about their votes.
