So long as they have no say or ownership in our natural resources we can have a discussion about some BVD car factories and other areas without national security concerns. And always happy to sell natural resources to them.

Well then they may have to be banned from trading shares
of our natural resource companies in the stock market.

I believe they suspect Carney will be PM and he will roll over and give China whatever they want.
Here's the thing: I don't think any of our leaders will roll over on China, not Carney, not Poilievre and not Singh. I also don't think any of them would kowtow to Trump.

So, while we might need to do more business with other countries, I don't think we're in a real position of weakness...

it is probably best not to use "Global Times" as a "reliable" source of news. Also, you might want to check how happy Honduras is with China after entering a trade deals with them.
Say what you will about them, but they are the English language voice of the CCP. There is definitely value in reading what they have to say, but as always with things coming out of Chinese media...take things with a large dose of salt.

Globaltimes is the mouthpiece of the Chinese govt. So if they say China is interested then it is a fact. If Honduras is so unhappy with China why are they signing more deals with them? https://fundacionandresbello.org/en/news/honduras-🇭🇳-news/honduras-signs-agreements-with-china-for-three-projects/
What do you expect the Honduras government to do when they are already stuck with China.

According to data from National Association of Honduran Aquaculturists (ANDAH), just two years after Honduras cut ties with Taiwan, its white shrimp exports have plummeted 67 percent, leaving more than 14,000 workers unemployed.

According to the report, China promised to purchase large amounts of Honduran white shrimp when the two countries established diplomatic relations, but two years later, that promise is yet to be fulfilled.

When Chinese businesses visited Honduras in June last year to inspect shrimp farms, they announced they would purchase 250 containers of white shrimp, the report said.

However, they only purchased one container in the end, causing ANDAH to call China “rude and disgusting,” it said.

According to data from the Central Bank of Honduras, Honduran exports to China last year amounted to US$35.9 million, while Chinese exports to Honduras increased to US$2.55 billion, resulting in a trade deficit of more than US$2.5 billion, Honduran newspaper La Prensa reported.

Trade with China does not mean rolling over. We can decide what limits we want to put on the relationship.

As if that does not happen with Western engineering companies.

That ship sailed 11 years ago, and won't be back in port for another 20:

Harper sold us out to Canada. PP wants to follow in daddy's footsteps.
I don't mind a framework for investment from China if it meets our interests. The problem is we spend the last 10 years booting them out to please our US masters. Now it looks like we will need their partnership if we are gonna have a car industry.

I don't think you see western infrastructure projects collapsing at a rate that you see with Chinese made projects

It was under construction and got hit by an earthquake. That building in FL collapsed pretty seriously not so long ago.
