Man...THAT took long enough.
I never understood the fascination with Herm Edwards. He was a loser in New York at 39 and 41 (in fact, he went 5 and 15 over his last 20 games), but the Chiefs actually PAID the Jets a 4th round pick in order to talk to Edwards. And what did they get for that? A 15 and 33 record.
Overall Edwards is 54 and 74 as a Head Coach, with only 4 winning seasons out of eight, with a 2 and 4 post reason record. Add to that his apparent ineptitude when it comes to managing the clock, and mediocre game planning and preparation...and I just don't get it.
I am noticing something else...first Gruden...now Edwards...what's with this late firing of coaches after all the other jobs have already been filled? It is almost like the owners want to make sure they don't get another job....though Herm will probably land somewhere as an assistant.
