Make sure to check actual airline website before booking thru discount websites. Sometimes, its same price less fees these others charge.

I absolutely love Porter airlines. Great rates, and even better service. If at all possible, I would fly Porter over any other airline. They have made a loyal customer out of me.

If you can, consider flying from Buffalo.
I would not.

A friend of mine tried that and got stopped at the Boarder by some buffoon US Customs Agent on a power trip.

He had his passport, he had his ticket.

He didn't have his flight itinerary.

Boarder cop proceeded to play tough guy. Asked him where the Itinerary was. Friend said he had ticket in hand. Boarder cop says, "how do I know you won't stay in the country" Blah blah blah.

This is where it gets wierd - my friend says that the Itinerary is on his Blackberry. Boarder cop says, "if you show me that, I will have to keep it" I have no idea why.

Long story short - they missed their flight due to a moron.

Not worth 50 or 60 bucks savings frankly.

BTW, friend is middle class white guy with decent job, etc. Boarder cop was just being a prick like so many of them are. You're better to go through US Customs in Pearson.

yeah US customs are complete morons....I went there with an itinerary, hotel reservations...etc etc..still wanted to search my car. They are a bunch of ass holes and proud of it. I gave myself an extra hour so I made my flight, but what jack asses... other then that flying from Buffalo is great, parking is fine, $234 for the flight vs $550 from Pearson.. and $370 with Porter. The moron customer I experienced were at the Lewiston crossing..I have heard a few situations like that...next time I will cross at the Falls.

Depends on your luck really. They rotate US Cutoms 'designated arseholes' amongst all the bridges lately. These morons even give us Yanks a hard time on occasion on returning to the States. Some think they are 0007....

I use porter as much as possible... I won't use any other airline to fly to one of their destinations...

I have also flown out of buffalo many times, never really had a problem crossing the border.

I seldom have trouble crossing either. You can usually see and avoid lanes moving slowly because 0007 is busy saving the USA from terrorists.

Yeah but I think you gotta make your lane choice before you are stuck.. if you wait to late then I think you get the full cavity search....

I think Porter is somewhat pricey. Those hot flight attendants probably come at a premium.

Try Air Canada, or any of the US carriers, like US Airways, United, American, etc.

I'd say porter is a no brainer for anyone living downtown. The shortest lines anywhere, and you don't even need your car to get there so no parking either. You'll easily save 2-4 hours worth of traffic and lines.

The only draw back I'd say is the small size of the planes. The turbulence can get a bit scary at first.

I second the advice for flying out of Buffalo, between what you pay in gas, the parking charge at Buffalo Airport and the flight you are saving a good deal of money. I recommend Jet Blue, I have done it to Boston a few times before. And if you are gonna worry about US customs, well you might as well stop going to the US at all, just give short straight answers, dont act nervous and be respectful and polite.
