cheap dentist? Independents?

Hey there Terbites,

i have a serious problem, and it may gather a few a smart ass remarks, but I'm dead serious 'bout it.

I have some serious teeth issues.
Part of my front tooth decayed so much that its now literally falling apart.
i had a bad relationship with my last asshole dentist, thus the reason i left him.
But now i'm just looking for someone who can patch the one tooth back together again...temporary.... until I have the funds for a full extraction and replacement.

I read in the paper sometime ago about how some schools have these newbie or trainee dentists who are always looking for patience...someone along those lines would be suitable.

thanks.

.

Money for hobbying and none for your health. Very good set of priorities there. Try U of T. Dental school. Better hurry though ,cuz I think the students are almost done for the year. My dentist is very good in N.E. Scarborough. If interested pm me.

I know this is slightly off-topic:) . I think that of all the professions that Dentists on average make the most money?

I read somewhere that the income of Dentists is much higher then Doctors, Lawyers, Accountants etc?

To the original poster - I beleive there are some online resources that can assist you in finding out about self-dentistry. Perhaps you and a friend can get together and repair the tooth. Make sure you video it and put it on Youtube.

Now, I'm not recommending this. I'm just saying it's out there...

And Squash, why do you end every sentence with a question mark when it's clearly not a question?

Of all the things to save money on, to me, dentistry would not be it (no, I am not a dentist). I have what I consider a very good dentist, and I trust him. My experience is that if you try and save money in the short term, you end up paying more, in pain and bad teeth as well as money, in the long term. That is not to say that UofT student dentists might not be good, but it would be hard to judge.

Sorry but you can't patch together a tooth that is decayed and falling apart. If indeed it is broken watch out the root doesn't get infected. Better get this attended to right away. No such thing as an independent dentist, if they are licensed they agree to follow the fee code although some will cut you a break if you have no insurance but don't expect deep discounting.
Go to the dental school and be a guinea pig for the students, won't cost you much but they are not full fledged dentists yet.

The university downtown toronto does emergency jobs for cheap. I know somebody who went there for a filling. it was like 30 dollars or so. Students do the work, but she said they were ok and they did it pretty quick.

On average, I don't believe that Dentists make more than Doctors but they typically make more than Lawyers and Accountants.

The University of Toronto would be one of your best bets. I'm not going to judge and I'm glad you came on here asking for advice but do something about it immediately.

Cheers.
