Especially nice after all the "experts" who write for a living picked the Lakers in 6. And I was getting tired of the Kobe-Jordan comparisions. What a joke!

COngrats to the Celtics. They played great in this series.

I don't think the 'experts' were wrong to favor LA though. LA was playing so well in sync through the western conference playoffs. They just couldn't get that flow back against the Celtics. Much better series than Cavs-Spurs for sure.

Kobe can now happily go back to putting his hands in the minors.

Kobe is great player, but an asshole. He could have had so many championships if he hadn't run Shaq out of LA. I hope he never gets another ring. Sadly, they'll be tough to beat next year

Congrats to the Celtics. I hate LA Lakers and Kobe as well - so arrogant.

To see good guys like KG, Ray Allen and Paul Pierce finally win a title is great.

Now if only the Raptors can spend some money this summer and do the same thing!

The Celtics main core are good guys. They deserve to win. They played better as the playoffs progressed.

Kobe is arrogant but he just doesn't quite have the supporting cast that is needed to win it all.

The Raptors can only sign someone to a mid-level contract because they do not have much room under the cap.

Calderon will be signed under the "Larry Bird" exception where he has played to the Raptors for three consecutive years so they can sign him to either the maximum allowed up to six years. It also works if the player is traded because the new team can used the "Bird" rule to sign him to the maximum. I am sure that when TJ is traded, this will free up some of the cap room to sign Calderon.

yeah ok keep my opinion to myself on a discussion board just because you disagree with it? just exactly where do you practice law, Iran or China?

anyways to be more clear, yes the playoffs are very interesting but a regular season game between the Bobcats and Clippers gets what kind of ratings? but that could be said about many pro sports in North America

It's great that we here in New England have 2 champion teams at the same time. One big hooray for the Celtics!!:D
Got that right. I am not in NE, but have cheered for most of the teams for years (Red Sox mainly). Haven't really watched a lot of basketball in many years, but the C's winning was great to see.

Vince Carter-Jordan comparisons were a joke
Kobe may never be Jordan, but the comparisons are not a joke.
In fact, they are pretty close. I would say that Kobe might be more
talented.

My apologies. It is a review board after all. To be perfectly frank, I really don't care about the Bobcats and Clippers ratings. I think that basketball is one of the greatest games in the world. Hockey will always be my favourite.

Funny that Kobe is so arrogant, and Bostonians seem to be the most arrogant people in America...

None of the current Celtics are from Boston. I just happen to like the players on the team.

Not sure about Bostonians being the most arrogant people in America though.
If they are arrogant, they have had many of their sports teams win championships in recent years.

FWIW ......... just read this online.

With the Celtics capturing their 17th NBA championship last night, it marks just the fourth time since the formation of the NBA in 1946 that one city been able to claim a World Series championship followed by an NBA crown in the span of 12 months:

1969-70 New York: Mets and the Knicks
1974-75 Oakland: A’s and the Warriors*
1981-82 Los Angeles: Dodgers and the Lakers
2007-08 Boston: Red Sox and the Celtics

*Warriors played NBA Finals at Cow Place in Daly City due to unavailability of Oakland Coliseum.

Micheal Jordan came away with 6 championship rings, and five regular season MVPs. Who helped him out at centre-Bill Cartwright, Ed Nealy, Will Purdue(Won't Produce) Stacy(Burger) King, Scott Williams, in other words journeymen. Kobe only has 3 rings because he had the greatest centre of the the modern era, Shaq play with him. And Kobe has only 1 regular season MVP so far.

Jordan also took 2 years away from the game to hit baseballs, and then came back to be a winner of 3 straight(best basketball team of all time 95-96 Bulls). Kobe plays in a big market, and gets a lot of hype. Jordan is miles above Kobe in talent level, and comparisions are a joke. The only player who may come close is LeBron James.
