cell phone service in canada

There is a wireless phone company called cricket in NY. Im not sure if any of you are familiar with it. Basically you pay a month at a time before the month begins and you get unlimited call and texts in the US and to Canada, plus some plans have internet as well.There is no contract. Is there any service like this in canada?

If you are going to be in a major city I recommend wind. In the burbs or smaller cities go with virgin, koodoo, fido or chatr (discount brand names on the big networks).

I would not recommend mobilicity or public mobile, their networks aren't very good even in the big cities.
