A friend of mine has a plan with Bell, and she is trying to replace the phone she has without having to commit to them for another 3 years and/or have her current plan changed.
Looking for recommendations on a place she can go to where she can get a replacement phone (used or new) that won't put her back a shit load of money.
Not looking for anything fancy.

Thanks

Is her current phone broken? How old is it, and how much term does she have left? Cell phone plans are a standard 2 year contract now, not 3 and she may be eligible for an upgrade now.

Current plans are shit. Might be cheaper buying your device outright than to sign on to a higher rate plan.

She tells me that her term will expire in April 2015. They told her she can upgrade now but that her current plan would need to change, which she doesn't want to do, since she can't afford to do that, at the moment. She has a basic talk and text plan with no data, if that helps. Her phone looks like crap, and I was trying to see if I can help her get something nicer.

There are lots of unlocked phones for sale in the $100-$140 range. Staples, Costco, and amazon all have a few. The Acer seems reasonable, for someone who just wants to talk and text. Can prob even get cheaper out there.
