My current b.s. cellular plan it about to expire soon and I'm looking for some advice regarding who has the best plans. Hopefully one that includes some L.D. minutes that is reasonable and out overly outrageous. Any thoughts??

Thanks in advance.

L.D. minutes?

You're looking for a plan that offers L.D. minutes? I would try the Cannonball Caberet cellular network, I hear they have good L.D.'s there. ;)

Last month I called Bell Mobility to cancel a plan and they offered me a plan that included 100 minutes a month of Lap Dances, oops, I mean long distance. You might want to try them.

the whole idea is call around and also call who you have a tell them you want a great plan. Sometimes they create those good ones.
Good Luck

See if you are eligible for one of the corporate employee plans. Most big companies have discounted rates for employee's personal phones. GM, Ford, Chrysler (or one of thier suppliers), Prov. Gov, UofT, Western, Waterloo (or alumni), etc.

Bell Mobility has a Long Distance Plan.

$5 Unltd wknd Can - Unlimited calling from 8pm Friday night until 7 or 8 am Monday morning long distance any where in Canada. If I am in Ottawa and someone in Kitchener calls my cell phone it is considered a long distance call for me because I am outside my local calling area. With this plan I can be in Ottawa all weekend and answer my cell, talk as long as I need, and it is covered under the plan. I can also call anywhere in Canada with unlimited talk time.

They don't advertise the plan, but it's there and I have 2 phones on it and it pays for itself. Rogers and the others can't touch it and wanted to sell me 1000 minutes instead. I showed them the 20 page bill and all the zeros and the sales guy just shook his head

Opps,

I also pay the extra $5 per phone for unlimited talk from 6 to 8 pm and for long distance during the week after 6 pm I use a Ci Ci long distance calling card to call the local exchange (unlimited talk time) and the long distance call is only about 3.9 cents a minute which lasts a while with a 10 or 20 dollar card.

I am tired of B.S. contracts, but if it gets you a new phone free, sign it, and get the extended warranty. I have found that with the extended warranty they are stuck fixing the phone until the end. My second phone's contract is up in April and the phone is in for repair with 3 months left on the warranty (3rd time in). They keep telling me that we can have an equipment upgrade because its been 1 year etc. So I ask them for my extended warranty money back, but they say no :)

Cell plan lock-in

Not sure how close is legislation, to impose law so you keep your current cellphone number, even if you switch cell company and plan, just like U.S. Incentive for more cellplan competition. One reason Rogers & others want to lock us in for 3 yrs instead of 2.

Sprint has few LD combo. Especially for occasional users or those 2nd phone for hobby. Got the plan for Elder relatives in case of emergencies. I think it was $18 all incl., with 200 mins, w/ system access fee and taxes. Sprint's LD rates are same as their land-lines 3-5 cents/min within N.A.
