It's not that there is no one on 22 Minutes with talent. Most will make out just fine without a CBC. Maybe Canadian productions of other networks might even get bigger budgets when there is no CBC unfairly competing with them.

Doubt it. Other networks simply want to buy American programs to rebroadcast in Canada with commercial time they sold themselves.

Funding the CBC is an investment in the Canadian tv and movie industry in general. Many people trained or started at the CBC and went on to do bigger and better things in the industry.

CBC also provides media and news not filtered by billionaire owner's own biases.
CBC news has been drifting right, but its still the best source in Canada.
