My cat does the same thing... I can see him in the window as I pull up into the driveway, and when I walk through the garage door into the house, he right there in the doorway. Death, taxes and Max.... the 3 things I can depend on!hans4u said:

Excellent dogs, but be prepared to invest a HUGE amount of time in training. Few things are as dangerous as a 150 lb. disobedient animal with a large prey drive. I do not so much like small dogs and find them yappy. I do not hate little dogs at all for that I would say I do not mind them just not as my pet. My Mom had dogs of all sizes including chihuahuas. I never liked any of her chihuahuas much accept one little black white and tan spotted one that was much quiter than the others and had a totally different personality.
I think what I liked the most about him was when he bit my Dad while hiding under the chair and he went to reach down and get his boots to run off without paying money to my Mom. The little guy was not going to let him make his escape. I gained respect for that little guy that day. In the end the guy had lots of money in his wallet and my Mom got it. :-D The guy ended up crying on the foot of the stairs and I grabbed his wallet tossed it to my Mom and said here Mom go ahead and check.
He was not the yappy one so it totally surprised me that he was the one that stood up for us in the end.
I absolutly love cats they are great as toe warmers when you put your feet up on a foot stool and they come to lay on your feet and big dogs are great as foot rests. The perfect package.
My vote went to I find them equal.
What gets my curiousity up about this however and maybe someone can answer more as to why. One day I had this guy over who told me to put my cat away because the cat was always wanting to jump up to be patted. After which I obliged and put the cat into the bedroom. What got me was the response that cats are not like dogs. I said nothing however, but my thoughts went to how my dog also seeks attention and will put his head up on me to to get it.
