Looks like another World Cup head coach has called it quits. He's decided to take a break from soccer altogether and have no association with the CBF. Emerson,along with Fabio Cannavaro,both of Juventus have qiuckly jumped ship and are on their way to Real Madrid,following Juventus coach Fabio Capello. Juventus is appealing the decision concerning the soccer scandal,however,it seems like they may not be left with too much once other players decide to go elsewhere.

I dodn't follw their situation during qualifying. This team looked overconfident and too casual. The performances against Croatia & Australia were crap and they weren't really able to raise their level in the knockout round. I didn't see any killer instinct out there.

Many of the top teams play just good enough in the opening round in order to win their group standing. Once the round of sixteen starts,it's elimination time,do or die,and some teams are able to raise their level of play and others are not. Brazil made it to the quarter final and had to face France,which is a highly ranked team and one in which Brazil has always had problems with. Perhaps all the hype got to them and maybe possible they were a little overconfident. Even after this years World Cup,FIFA still has Brazil ranked as number 1 and Italy as number 2?
