In my never-ending search for the Ultimate Car Wax I came across this website. Seems there actually is someone out there who's more obsessive / compulsive than me about the way his car shines! ;)

http://www.deckowski.com/wax off/greatwaxoffintro.htm

A couple of quotes from the website:

So let me start by saying, my wife thinks I'm an idiot. My nephew thinks I'm crazy, and my neighbor thinks I'm obsessed.

All cars were washed with Dawn several times. (wife wasn't amused)
Anyhow, I'm going to wait for the weather to warm up then I'm going to try Liquid Glass.

Oops - sorry. I'm not making sense am I? (Note to self - spend less time in Idle Ramblings Thread to avoid general non-sensical postings.)

Liquid Glass is a polish I've read lots about in my car wax research. Though not mentioned in the webpage above, it's very highly acclaimed by those who have used it.

There's a big difference between wax and polish. I've tried Liquid Glass, and thought it was fairly good, but if you're obsessed with a show car finish as I AM!!......go here:

Simply the best. It's where I get my supplies.

You took the word right out of my mouth... I have recommend this to a few fellow terb members on there and they give the same response, A++++. Zaino I have used for a long time... Mr. Zaino has a great product line. This product I usually get in Guelph at their Canadian distributors. It's actually a tire/mechanic shop.

Anyway I use this product all the time. I have spent hours waxing my car with the different steps of their product and they win them all... It's last longer... I have always got commented when it rains because the water just beads off the cars. It is truly an amazing product.

I highly recommend claying the car before you put this product on (Once should be enough for a year). That way you don't trap any dirt particles in the paint while you put the wax on. Also it is best to do this on the weekend it will take a few hours. If you are into cars and really like how they look and would like to keep it looking like the first day on the show room floor use this stuff, the time you put into it will be resulted in a big smile on your face and honestly you don't need to use allot of the product, it actually goes a long way..

YEs is it best to go the shop and talked to the guy, and he would suggest what to take or he usually comes out and takes a look at your car and he will suggest what selection of the waxing product Z1, Z2, Z5, Z6 etc etc.. They are well know on the Club GP. The product is unbelievable great.

Defenately get the ZFX it will cut your application time down to a few hours. I usually put 4 coats of wax on each of my car.

Xarir you are makeing a great choice.

I swear by Zaino as well. Did the Dawn thing, bought the Fieldcrest towels, spent a full day stripping the car, applying the different layers and spraying with the deep polish. Unbelievable results. Can be purchased in the Ottawa area from a supplier in Stittsville, a real estate agent selling it out of his home. PM if you need details.

Zaino also sells a tire glosser - doesn't turn your tires brown like Armour All or other products.

Meh ...

Well I just read the (poorly written) website of Zaino Brothers in more detail. Although they brand themselves as a Canadian company, the website is replete with imperial measurements - they talk about 16 ounces, 12 ounces, 60 degree temperatures ... I have NO FARKING CLUE what that crap means. Right from grade 1, I've been brought up in a metric world. So if I go with Zaino I'll have to spend some time converting their instructions into measurements I can understand. :(

OK, some of you will think this is petty. But honestly, I am lost when it comes to imperial measurements. Anyhow, I just had to vent. The multitude of spelling and grammatical errors on their website didn't exactly help.

Actually, Zaino is completely American owned and operated. Reason for their imperial measuring. I just posted the closest dealer in this region, but the gentlemen there are straight up and would be happy to explain any questions you may have.

J.R....I recognize the distributor in the Ottawa area, who at the moment just happens to be selling his well polished toy.

Protoss....If you have to clean your tires, you're obviously not driving fast enough. LOL
