I was driving home from a long day at work on Friday looking forward to a quiet relaxing weekend.

On the way home, I pull up to an intersection and stop at a red light. Then I start to hear this sound from behind my car:
KABOOM...KABOOM...KABOOM

Then it starts to get a little louder:
KABOOM...KABOOM...KABOOM

Then this black pick up truck with some overpowered, aftermarket sound system pulls up next to me at the red light:
KABOOM...KABOOM...KABOOM!!!!!

WTF??? My whole car was shaking!!! I could feel the air around my face vibrating to the pounding bass notes emanating from this guy's truck.

People who impose their crappy music on others this way are assholes who should be kicked in the nuts!!! They are selfish...they are probably criminals...and they ALWAYS have shitty taste in music!!!

Why didn't you just turn the volume way up on your CD of Beethoven's 5th symphony? That'd show the bastard.

It's all about being noticed, for shit music or what, I don't know. This is a most annoying thing. Wait til these fuckers are older and can't hear a damn thing beacuse of the damage being done. I listened to loud music too growing up, but not that loud, withthat much bass and in such a confined space.

I know. I've had that happen to me also. For some strange reason they think that everyone else wants to hear their music blasting away. It's stupid, childish and inconsiderate but what else is new these days?

it's not about thinking other people WANT to hear their music, it's the opposite. showing lack of respect. on purpose. and because they can, they do. i'm positive no-one would turn up the sound if they were beside a bad-looking biker. or cop.

Haven't noticed any particular culture to be over-represented...Seems like this type of douchebaggery transcends culture.

It is always guys and they are always between the ages of 18-26.

Interestingly, the last person I have seen was a lady blasting some nauseating RnB out of a merc S-class (about 6-8yrs old) on ridiculously large rims.

touching a car like that and speaking to its occupants would put you into a category of Darwin-award seekers. Make sure you are an organ donor.

nothing different with the "ricers" in my block and yes they also play their "music" (well it rhymes although it worst than dr. suess) extremely loud. i'm used their music being loud but doesn't mind. parents are actually nice people. but their mufflers are modified and gives you that "ricer" effect. this idiot let one of his friends drive the car 70km/hr on a 40km / hr street. lost control and hit a white van, across my house. they thought nobody saw them and parked the car inside the garage. and they played cool outside. they saw me walk out of the house, gave them the finger and walked across the street to the house where the van was parked. knocked on the house where 2 burly brothers (contractors i believe)live and told them what happened. kids looked defeated. "you play you pay assholes" is all i said. I see lots of little kids play on my street btw. civic is a nice car and you can supe it up as much as you want but it's far from being a racing material.
