With over 80 % infected and a very fast transmission rate, one would think they would be at ""herd" immunity by now.
Main question for me is, can you get covid if you eat the meat from an infected deer?

I wouldn't think so, but am not sure.
More likely it would just be a strong reservoir that results in repeated re-transmission back to humans via contact.

They probably have hit herd immunity or are close to it. That doesn't mean the virus goes away, obviously, it just means outbreaks won't be explosive going forward.
Won't stop an endemic level from sticking around for quite some time, especially since the deer probably don't mix at random.

Deer=herd, get it?
You are most likely correct though.
