Sort of reminds me of a character in a Brendan Behan novel, I think it was. Monsieur Le Tram Tracks. Some geezer in France got hit by a tram and claimed injury and was trying to sue the French government for compensation. This happened just before world war one and he stayed in bed throughout it, after it and through world war two fighting for his claim.

When you get public service, you don’t get to pick and choose. That is the deal. You don’t get to pick the people as if they are your personal employees. They are assigned. Same with hosuing, etc. That is what you get for free. You want to choose, you pay.

He is being selfish. He could be fighting this battle at home and based on what the article says about his condition, the limited amount they say, it sounds like he should be in a long term care home. Sorry you feel you are too young. I need reading glasses and just got prescribed progressives and I’m not even 50 yet but that is my problem.

17% of accrue beds are held up by bed blockers…. That is what is unacceptable. Ship him out.

A very long time ago they kicked out all of the patients with mental issues at 999 Queen, they just opened the doors and said see ya and nobody seemed to have a problem with it. This guy is a bum they should hand him a tent and a sleeping bag and kick his ass to the curb

So the Hospital is ready to discharge him = means he's fine and he refuses? isn't that trespassing? Unless he's in hospice care, he really shouldn't be there...if he needs social worker to look after him once a week...it can be provided...hospitals are for people he really need it...the question that needs to be answered with his situation. does he need to be there or not?

If the system allows this idiot to take advantage of the hospital then it’s the systems fault.
He’s probably homeless and would rather live in a hospital than on the street.

This is costing taxpayers over an extra $800 per day for him to stay in that hospital bed. This is egregious. If he wants to hire personal caregivers then hire and pay for them yourself.

He has been paying rent at this place all this time. He is just not leaving the hospital until they let him decide who is care givers will be.
