Yet just three days ago I heard a physician who was trained and practiced in Canada arguing very much the opposite way.

I suspect that a LOT has to do with where one has practiced in Canada, Toronto or the whole GHS is different from the Maritimes where fifteen years ago there was but one MRI Imager with a long waiting list.

Fifteen years ago is a lifetime

Things have changed and improved drastically in that time. I mean why not compare medicine in new York today with medicine in rural ontario in the sixties

Because I didn't bother with the rest of the story, about how the physician was able to arrange for his nephew to go to a hospital 155 km into the U.S. where instead of waiting for several months he received the MRI the next day. Perhaps things have now caught-up, that doesn't change the fact that the story of the physician I heard has just as much validity as the physician testifying before the U.S. Senate.

If your a professional athlete in Canada you can get an MRI,Xray,Cscan anytime you need 1.

Why? Because the teams pay for it.If you want to pay you don't need to leave the province.Pony up the $$ and your at the front of the line.Social standing helps to.The CEO on any of the big 5 banks won't wait 6 months for a MRI or to see a specialist.

P.S. Could you fund "free helath-care" if you had to oh I don't know Pay for your own defense?
Why should we do that? The Americans spend enough on defense for half the world combined. lol

I'm half surprised the US hasn't developed inject-able nano-drones that nuke cancer. You'd think they had, given how much they pour into defense!

How come those hot dog eaters south of the border never mention how many people lose their homes because of huge medical bills?
