Anywhere there's a Strip Joint
After receiving a call from CBS last week requesting a donation for my type(O neg) of blood, I donated for my 26th time today. I always feel good in donating, especially since mine is the rarest of bloods, and it can be used by anyone, but I can only use my own type. They say 1 donation can save 4 lives.

The only thing that bothers me is the usual questions...

Have I ever paid for sex.
Did I ever take money or drugs for sex.
Have I ever had sex with someone whose background I didn't know.
Have I ever had sex with someone from Africa.
Have I ever had sex with a male.

I'm sick of answering all these questions(something like 15 of them) when all the answers are "NO". Most of them are very similar.

Maybe I should ask the nurse if she's ever sucked a cock of someones background she didn't know!

they are defensive, they are better off to ask you no questions and just do an HIV/STD test instead.

I am kinda glad I am under weight to give blood but being a rare type kinda sucks since I know from my family members working in the medical field they are always telling stories of how much blood bags they have to use on patients that come in ER.

oh well after reading those basic questions it's a Yes to almost all of them I guess I will never give blood, and it's in you to give.

I agree..

That is why I will never donate.. many of those things are none of their business... and once you answer those questions, who has access to that information in the future??

just take my blood, no questions.. screen it and if it fails then dispose of it.

The questions are relevant. Those are high risk behaviours.
Explain or Clarify your behaviors please?

They want to see if you are an asshole then let's not make asses at the hospital?

How much does it cost them to setup their own HIV/AIDS test machines instead of us telling them if we have it.
Aren't they supposed to do that anyways, hence why they got sued this year.

? rarest blood type ? or rare that people donate this blood type in general!? i beg to differ as A-B type is 5% of the world population. its only came to exist about less than 1000 years ago. they hassled me a lot to donate.

AB Negative is the rarest, I believe.

justed added a site with blood type spec.Eating specific to your blood type is interesting... think mine might say "eat pussy in moderation..or you'll grow wiskers" >^-^<

AB negative is the rarest blood type.
O negative means it has no A, no B, and specific antibodies.
A cannot take anything with a B factor, and vice-versa.
O negative is the universal donor, can be given to anyone without problem.
AB positive is the universal acceptor, can take blood from anyone.
O negative can only take blood from an O negative donor.
Postive blood cannot be given to a negative, but negative can be given to a positive.
Basically you cannot give the person a factor they do not normally have, but you can give them blood without a factor they normally have.

The reason O negative is high in demand is since it can be given to everyone and because it can only be given to anyone who is O negative.

The questions came into play right after the hep C / HIV scandal as a quick screening measure, they still do an aids test on blood accepted after the screening measure.

I stand corrected, I guess what I was trying to say is it's the universal blood that can be used by all, but I can only receive my own type...so it's harder to find considering only 7% of the population has it.

Types & Rh System

Everyone's blood has a combination of elements from the different systems that classify blood. Two of these blood group systems are the ABO system and Rh system. The group you belong to depends on the presence or absence of proteins and sugars called antigens on the surface of your blood cells as well as the proteins called antibodies in the watery part of your blood. Not all blood types are compatible.

There are four major blood groups A, O, B, and AB divided into Rh Positive and Rh Negative types: A (Rh Positive); A (Rh Negative); O (Rh Positive); O (Rh Negative); B (Rh Positive); B (Rh Negative); AB (Rh Positive); and, AB (Rh Negative).

The most common blood type in Canada is O Rh Positive (approximately 39 per cent of Canadians have O Rh Positive blood). The rarest blood type is AB Rh Negative (only about one per cent of Canadians have AB Rh Negative blood). All blood types are needed to meet the needs of patients for blood and blood products.

People with O Rh Negative blood are considered universal donors because patients of all blood types can receive O Rh Negative blood.
