An announcement this week that Canada would provide funding for Palestinian women who have survived sexual violence drew an immediate rebuke from a senior Israeli official.

Foreign Affairs Minister Melanie Joly made the $1-million pledge on social media Tuesday.

"Allegations on sexual and gender-based violence against them must be investigated and Palestinian women must be supported."...

This is fucked up an unacceptable. Either they really don't know which is incompetence of epic proportions or they bloody well do know which is worse.

Also I'd bet dollars to donuts that much more of the old violence in and out are being done by local on local than by the IDF, just plain numbers time and access would suggest this. We are not talking about the Soviet or Japanese army during WWII for fucks sakes. Unless people think Palestinian dudes are some sort of saints or asexuals who would never ever do that, being too busy preaching death to Israel, plotting river to sea genocide and killing any homosexual they can get their hands on.

Let’s take this one step further.
Actual statistics from Stats Canada and around the world…Show that 80-90% of female inmates are there because at some point early in life, they were victims of assault or similar trauma by men. In the first place.

So they turn to or get given drugs, petty crime, other ways to make $$…and end up in jail.

And even those that manage to cope and get through

In addition, the prevalence of PTSD is at 53% for incarcerated women in comparison to 10% in the general population. Further, female offenders are more likely to have experienced sexual violence and/or victimization both prior to their time in the facility, as well as, within the correctional establishment.
