I'm partial the Maritimes but PEI is special.

The drive from TO through Quebec and New Brunswick can be interesting and has produced memorable moments getting to our destination
Well know for its Red mud, Potatoe, Seafood, and Anne of Green Gables

Friendly locals
Not sure where this saying originated but could apply here (a stranger is just a friend you haven't met yet)

Fantastic beaches
The well known Cavendish beach is the obvious one but there are many beautiful beaches around the Island that many of the locals enjoy and are fun to discover

Skinners Pond Beach Entrance. Another local beach at sunset.

Fresh seafood
Purchasing fresh lobster right off the docks at the end of the day.
Or Stripe bass fishing right on one of those awesome beaches.


Golf
Golfers dream destination with many picturess and challenging courses. Ocean breeze can add to the challenge and seeing a fox saunter along a fairway or across a green is not uncommon.

PEI is God’s country from June to October. Let the tourists go to Cavendish. Lots of great beaches all over. South shore beaches are warmer anyway.
I’m on a seafood diet there too.

Banff/Jasper and the Icefields Parkway drive are the most spectacular views I've seen. I made the mistake of going to Colorado right after the Banff trip. That was not a good idea. I'm sure Colorado is beautiful on its own but it pales in comparison to the Canadian Rockies. The thought of Banff/Jasper not being part of Canada makes my stomach turn

Newfoundland is another amazing place to see/visit. Gros Morne is spectacular. The small communities in the little inlets and coves are great too.

I still have to do the Agawa Canyon train tour and probably the Rocky Mountaineer

B.C.coast drive/Vancouver Island and Maritimes tours were all great as well but Icefields and Newfoundland I cannot recommend highly enough

I did that trip with my sons when they were in their teens, but slightly different. We took a train to the end of the line, which was Moncton. Then rented a car and drove the rest of the way. Great golf and seafood.

A "lobster dinner" of salad, mussels, one and a half pound lobster and desert was $20.

And I'll always say that east-coasters are the friendliest people in the world.

I done..
Drive .. between TO - Vancouver ( rented a car in Van) also Vancouver island. Also drove to Newfoundland and all of east coast.

So I want to do The Territories, in the summer.

Yes you can and you have to experience a clam bake at least once right on the beach. Tip I found from the locals is to dig for clams just in the water you can use a plunger or cup your hands. It quickly unearths the clams. Or a spade on shore is used. Look for the little holes in the wet shore to locate them.

I love Banff and the drive up to Jasper, including Moraine Lake, Lake Louise, and the Icefields Parkway.

Also the hike through Johnston Canyon near Banff. Google it!

40 years ago this week we flew into wintery Calgary rented a car and drove to Lake Louise. Spent the week skiing.
Drove into Banff for supper one evening and back then it was just a small quiet village. There was an Elk right by the hotel in the side park. Thought it was just a statue as it was still as can be. We got out of the car to go into the hotel and I went towards it for a closer look and was surprised when it moved away.

After a couple of days a Chinook rolled in and it turned into spring skiing with no coats on. We buried a lunch and a bottle of wine in the snow near the top and stopped there for lunch. What a view and the memories will last a lifetime. The highway was closed for a couple of days due to the warm weather. But we were still able to ski so it didn't bother us.

Last couple of nights we changed our reservations and drove up to Edmonton. Visited the famous West Edmonton mall and other attractions. Then when we got back to Calgary all the snow was gone and some of the restaurants had their outdoor patios open.

Going to have to make the trip again during the summer months. And visit the ice fields.

My paternal grandparents used to live in Calgary, so my parents would take us to visit them every summer. One week in Calgary, and one week in the Banff region, headquartering at the Banff Springs Hotel in the early 1960's before they converted it into a convention spot.

I still remember seeing some bear cubs by the side of the highway on the way to Lake Louise. My dad pulled over so we could get out of the car and take a closer look at them. Good thing mama bear wasn't nearby and pissed off...

A good friend moved to Calgary and I went to visit him about 30 years ago. It was maybe early June and we had 7am tee time at Kananaskis. It was 15C when we left his place and he said that it would be cooler at the course. As we approached, I checked the temp and mentioned that it was still 15. He said, look again. I did and it said -1.5C. The grass crunched as we walked.

We teed off and within 45 minutes we were peeling layers off as the weather got warmer and warmer. Blue calm skies. By the end we had lunch outside and wearing shorts.

We drove back to Calgary with the intent of getting in another round. By this time, it was getting cooler and the winds must have been howling 80kph. It looked like the traffic lights were going to get blown off.

That was the one day I experienced all 4 seasons in Calgary.

In my early 20's I drove from Montreal to Alberta/BC 5 times.

The most beautiful area of the trip is the road on the north side of the Great Lakes in Ontario. Then, of course, the Rockies and the poetry of the great rolling plains of Saskatchewan.

For skiing, nothing beats White Water in Nelson, southern BC. East coast the best skiing is Le Massif in Charlevoix.

The most beautiful city is Quebec City.

The best people was New-Brunswick, along with great lobster and beaches.

The party city with a vibe is Montreal.

The best city in all of America is Toronto. There is a thing in Toronto that wants you to live there (as long as you don't have a car haha).

I went on the Agawa Canyon trip quite a few years ago. This year there is a new program, a Sacred Pathways Indigenous experience on some trips which looks interesting.

Driving along Saguenay River and fjords to Tadoussac to watch the whales in August. Random stops along the way to pick blueberries in the wild. Salmon paninis at the hotel (butter, goat cheese, blueberry jam, arugula). Out of this world!
