A lot of people with issues. Drug addicts, smugglers, illegal drivers, residents, thieves in the city.

i pray that lady survives.

People have been asking that question in every age of humanity throughout history. You're not going to find answer that satisfies you any time soon.

The driver driving away is wrong, but they might have panicked....the pedestrian was crossing no where near a crosswalk. Why is the driver always considered at fault?

He said the driver was wrong to drive away. I assumed he meant why is the driver always considered at fault whenever a pedestrian is hit.
Unless of course it is a train they are driving.
Kinda hard to swerve a train to avoid hitting them.

maybe they weren't drunk, maybe there were not high. maybe they know what they did and got really scared and ran. maybe it is a kid that had his parents car and is even more scared of what might happen and ran. until the person is caught you have no idea.

i saw a guy a few years ago run over a chick on her bike, he was in a pick up truck, he didn't even know that he hit her. said he thought it was a speed bump.

there are a lot of variables so to just assume the person is a drunk, drug addicted retard is a little much.

Many judgemental members on this board. We have no details, yet we accuse, probably based on historical data I would assume, but still not right.

Or someone driving with suspended license and/or no insurance.
Or simply someone who can't afford ANY increase in insurance rates, or lost points or getting sued or any number of things....

A society with too many rules not only manufactures many criminals out of regular people making human mistakes... it also fosters disrespect for the law... We are overdosing on laws & regulations & it is unhealthy to society

How do you know it was not at a crosswalk? The cbc story didn't indicate that, did you see that info somewhere else?
There is a crossing at Warden and 1 block east at Manderley.
