I don't think the robots could figure out distrust from pure irrational, illogical stupidity on our part. They better bake in the 'don't kill humans' deep, deep with triple redundancy because any robot is going to figure we are simply mentally defective and terminate us.

I think robots should not be taught to think - just follow their master's orders. Trust is not an issue. You can order a robot that you are comfortable controlling .. maybe ....
