I hope this is the right place to post this ,,,
Ive been having a dilema .....
Sometimes i can not get to my phone messages for hours at a time ,
then after checking them , to find gentlemen asking me to call back
Now the question is ,, how long after the call should it be ok to call back
Example: what if he called while he was out and now home with the family ?
Just thought i would get the right answer here :)

If your clients have a concern about when they can be called back, they should be telling you when an appropriate time would be for the return call. If you are not sure please don't call.

voice mail can help and do wonders

why not alter your voice mail message and give explicit instructions to callers about your "rules" and when to expect a call back, that should help

Bella..it's a no win situation with your current phone or phone provider.

Some will bitch about no return calles, other will bitch about late unexpected return calls.

Get a better phone or provider. It will solve all of it.

It's obvious what your problem is..but don't let technology ruin your rep.

Say in your outgoing message that you will return calls within a certain time frame or not at all (say 30 minutes or 1 hour). This gives them fair warning -- that way, if it's really not going to be good for them, they don't have to leave a message.

Unless they say a time, don't call back.

Always have on your answering machine that you need a call back number and time or a return phone call will not be made. That will take care of the guys complainging. It is left in their hands to leave a time if they want a call back.

Better to be safe then sorry.

The message that I leave on anyone's machine is as follows:

It's Dave, It is about 2 pm now, if you get this message within the next hour or two, please call me at *** **** thanks.

Common Sense

A little common sense is needed here. It's not the responsibility of the SP "Bella" in this case to have to worry about whether she should call or not. A little common sense is needed here. If you call an SP and leave a call back number you have to assume that it might take some time to reply. The caller has to consider this and if he doesn't want to get a call at an inoppurtune time he has the responsibility to say so. Look besides everybody has personal cell phones and if you don't you certainly should if you're calling an SP. Bottom line "Callers" use your big head, and Bella, don't put any thought into it, if someone complains then they were an ass anyhow as they should have put some thought into it, just my $0.02.:)
