Okay so im lost dazed and confused(well is that anything new? lol). I got a new laptop as an early xmas gift.. it was working great but now the internet is gone weird. I can get on firefox no problem, surf around its all good. But it wont log into msn messenger, AIM, IRC or limewire. I did an IP config and it seems fine, I turned off both the norton and windows firewall I dissabled Norton completly and still no go. I've rebooted a few times, and a bunch of stuff I cant even remember lol. Im ready to throw the damn thing out the window. Its plugged into the router for my cable internet, I even tried unplugging it and using the wireless and it wont work

Router eh? Probly has a firewall. Open a browser and go to an address like this: http://192.168.1.1 or maybe ending in 2.1. This will get you to your routers config screens. Use NAT or some other way to open the ports for those things you want to do.

Thanks data!! It was actually a problem with ie, I had to re-set my settings and reset the modem n download some program. But I got it working! LoL hopefully it stays working, I have the worse luck with laptops and wireless
