Get a Mac. Plug it in it just works. Haven't called a service rep in 10 years for the half dozen or so I've owned.

Unless you are buying a laptop/MAC never and I mean never buy an already built / brand name PC . . .MDG, Dell even IBM
they buy low quality OEM parts in bulk and insert their own BIOS in them thus you end up going back to them when you want to upgrade or need repair etc . . .
Build your own.
How?
(A) Set your budget $$$
(B) decide what usage you need it for!
(C) then make a list of what you need and buy best parts you can get from famous OEM brand names like
i.e.

1- Hards Disk ----- SEAGATE, WESTERN DIGITAL, MAXTOR
2- RAM/Memory ---CORSAIR, OCZ, KINGSTON
3- Mainboard--- ABIT , ASUS , MSI
4- CPU ---Intel, AMD
5- Case --- any!
6-Video Card ----ATI, Nvidia
7- Sound Card --- CREATIVE LABS, SoundMax (build in Motherboard)
8- CTR/LCD Monitor ----VIEWSONIC, SAMSUNG, MAG, NEC
9- mouse&keyboard ----LOGITECH, MICROSOFT
10- CD/DVD drive ---LiteOn, PIONEER, SONY, NEC
11- Operating system, Windows XP/NT or Win 98/Me. . .
Then start shopping around for parts by going to these shops listed below and ask for recommendation like
I want to build a system for my School Work, or for PC Gaming or Business use
depending on your usage they will make proper recommendation for size, power & value;
http://www.canadacomputers.com/
http://www.tigerdirect.ca/
http://www.pccanada.com/

buy every part brand new sealed "in the box" and then ask one of them to assemble the system for you for a flat rate, $35, easy!
now you have a nice PC with best parts you can get for your money and all are upgradable/ transferable to your next new system in due time i.e., the next generation Mainboard /CPU

Hello my name id bOB

If your having trouble with your Dell as I did months ago, no need to worry just ask for Bob ( I believe he lives with 38 relatives in a 2 bedromm shack) and he will walk you through all 7 to 8 hours of troubleshooting.

How the hell can a person with 1/16 brain power and - ( minus) 100% western world experiance help us with our CPU`s. That day was one of the most confusing and Disgusting displays of costomer service ive ever gone through. The only time I experianced bad customer service close to that was Christmas Eve at 4:00pm in Walmart when I asked point blank and very clearly where are the washrooms, the walmart employee had a very close resemblance to Bob and I felt I had enough of the very annoying accent and paid up and pissed behind my car.

I dont want to live in China or India and my poor country has somehow been over taken by these people. I dont care that some of you take offence to my opinion and I dont have to accept whats going on. Why are there so many forign signs hanging around. Why are my TV stations being transmitted with language I dont understand. I thought this country was bilingual FRENCH AND ENGLISH, there should be a law against advertising anything but French/English. Why would they do that cause Canada has become a meeting place for immigrants instead of a melting pot.

While I agree with you partly I have some comments.
Apparently, Dell has 2 types of warranties. The business warranty has much shorter wait times and the service rep is North American.
I am not sure about the 1/16th brain power, but India has one of the most highly trained engineering workforces in the world. There is a reason why Microsoft, Sun etc... have their programs written in India for much less money and (so I was told) often with better and more efficient coding.
Regarding your immigrant comments, Canada desperately needs immigration to grow, to keep the economic engine running. Most immigrants are young people providing a good tax base and willing to make the housing boom north of Toronto possible. Do you think the Canadian kids are interested in working on a construction site north of Woodbridge? No way! Obviously, with such a high influx of immigrants it is only natural that they are transferring some of their culture.
If you just want a pure white community to live in you should move to maybe Iceland.

Canadian Values?

Instead of Iceland, Ray should go back to whatever imaginary world he lives in. Odds are, the tech support guy and even the ones in Wallmart have 16 times his brainpower.

People are pretty much India's only natural resource and it uses it well.
