Cable Modem/Wireless Question

I am currently on Rogers cable and have Dlink wireless router. The wireless Dlink is on a secured network and I use the windows firewall

Tonight I kept hearing what sounded like a telephone ringing on the modem. It has been ringing all night long - Two rings every five minutes or so. About 20 minutes ago I heard the little jingle I hear when I turn off my laptop (from the modem) and the ringing has stopped.

Does anyone know what was happening? Should I contact Rogers?

sounds like you have a fax setup

Good call, I'll check that out. The Rogers rep informed me that their modems do not make any sounds so it must be coming out through the wireless Dlink.
