Spent an evening in Belleville with friends last week and killed some time at the two pleasure palaces.
First went to Go-Go, close to our motel, recently renovated, very clean and shiny. All local talent, nothing of note and bartender was a bit flakey - you guys complain about the BR staff harrassing you for drinks, we had to request orders a couple of times. Don't care for the new VIP, up a fire escape and quite open. Did not stay around to see the headliner as we had to head downtown for dinner.
After dinner and hitting a few bars, we went to the Cabaret. A bit dirty and down at the heels, but has a good VIP section with privacy and relative comfort (don't look too close). Aren't SCs all about sleaze?
Met a couple of old favs, sweetheart named Kelly from Montreal, young blonde with a killer body and very firm all over. Great to talk to as well, enough English to have decent conversation and gives you a chance to practice en francais.
It was such a good nite that I went back alone on Sat nite to see Kelly. Met a new lady, Millie, from T.O., a latin lady, petite and very friendly. Great experience, not a lot of English again and not young but really cute, amazing little body.
She is there for a couple of weeks so highly recommend seeing her if you are interested in a personality as well as great dances.

I know it is hard to believe.
No chain retail but a lot of neat little stores, a few nice restaurants, and a few good bars. The Ramada at the waterfront is great. More of a summer city, becoming like Kingston on a smaller scale.
Don't knock it till you try it!

Try the "Sweet Basil" in dwntown next time you're in Belleville. Very good food.

Never been to Go-Go because couldn't figure out where the parking lot is. Been to Cabaret a few time. I don't like the fact that a lot of dancers are from other cities. Actually, once I was in the Grayhound with a dancer from Toronto.

Might go to Go-Go since you mentioned local talents if I can sneak into the parking lot.

Go-Go Parking

You can park at rear of the Go-Go or in front of the mattress store next door, or sometimes I go across the road to the Little Texas/Motel 5 lot.
The Cabaret does have a lot of out of town dancers but there are a lot of regulars who do the 'circuit'.

Number of good restaurants....Sweet Basil, Bohemian Penguin, Linguines, Dinkel's, Paulo's.....

For breakfast you cant beat Cora's in the Clarion.

Never hit the two local's too often - not great and it is local!!
