Buying legal weed at Honey Pot in downtown Toronto

So I decided to go downtown and check out Toronto’s first legal weed shop: Honey Pot. The store just opened this week...people camped out overnight to be get in on the first day.

The line to get into the store extended down the street and around the corner. It took just over an hour to get in. I talked to a dude in line who said it was like that on opening day but then the lines got shorter. This was the first weekend that the store was open tho.

Once I got in, the store was a cool boutique kinda place. I was assigned a “Budtender” who showed me around and asked me what I wanted. He explained some of the different strains to me:

Sativa: Provides a euphoric vibe to match the energy of what you’re doing.

Indica: Makes you numb out and go comatose...Good for playing video games or just crashing.

I bought a half ounce of each with maximum THC content: White Widow (Indica) and Go (Sativa).

I also bought a grinder and a Pax Vaporizer. Total Cost: $620

Once I got into the store things went pretty quickly. They enter your order on the Budtender’s iPad and then you pick it up at the counter. They accept cash, debit, and credit card.

Then I left the store, went back to my car, and discovered I had a $450 ticket for parking in a handicapped parking zone!!! WTF? TOTAL BUZZ KILL...the thing wasn’t even marked clearly. Whatever...Fuck it!

Then I went to Wild Wings and started drinking. Haven’t smoked any weed yet...I’m looking forward to putting myself into a state of paralysis with my White Widow.

A lotta people would agree with you. IMO, tho, I’d rather pay the premium and avoid dealing with sketchy, unreliable people to buy weed from.

We have been lied to for years. Read the warning label for marijuana, then read the warning for alcohol and tobacco. Of the three marijuana is the safest.

Additionally look at how many people die or are hurt from smoking and drinking.

I say we get red of liquor and we save 30,000 people a year in the US alone.

Not in the opiate sense where it will depress your central nervous system to the point you stop breathing but with the edibles it's definitely possible to have a very uncomfortable experience. As in wow I took way too much and a very heavy cotton wool feeling in your face and sick to your stomach for several hours.

90% of the problems with Cannabis is in inhaling the smoke from combustion. Why would anyone smoke cannabis when there are so many better choices of ingesting it?

And combustion burns a lot of that THC and CBD than all the other choices.

Also, the price of legal stuff is high but not as high as it seems. Black market weed is seldom well trimmed and has always been full of stems and, sometimes, seeds. Legal stuff is 100% well trimmed buds. When you are talking grams, those stems and seeds weigh a lot.

But the best part of the legal stuff is quality and security: you know it has not been contaminated or adulterated.
