Need some advice.PS--thanks for previous advice--re Laptop-I purchased a Sony.

ANYWAY

I plan to buy a Lexus IS 350. I own a G35 and time to sell it. I used to just buy GM cars and would have a field day with salesperson re Price. I never paid MSR price on any GM car.

When I bought the G35 there were only a few in Canada..I had to wait 2 months
for the car to arrive from Japan. I paid the full retail...BUT i wanted the car now so I paid up.

QUESTION.. I have heard that at some of the higher end dealers Audi-BMW-Lexus etc that it is very difficult to get the salesperson to budge from the MSR.
Have any of you had this experience or did you have a chance to beat down the price

Thanks

get an independent lease/brolker to buy it for you. They can buy much closer to actual cost and take a fairly small commission.

How do you find a broker???

Most independent auto lessors , and there are many, will also act as a broker to buy you a car. They will ususally charge $300- $700 depending on the car but should be able to save you $1000-$5000 again depending on the car. Try the Yellow Pages. Also try Google.

Broker shmoker.

Do the leg work yourself in February when they (the dealers) are all starving.

You still have to go through a sales person who gets a commission on top of a retail price.

The broker buys the car direct from the dealer at just over cost.

By the way Dec. is a good month to buy , with everyone focusing on Xmas and the dealers having yearly sales targets to meet.
