Team 'w', Dubya, Rummy, et al., have been doing lots of squawking about fascism lately! From the way they play the fear card to bypass the Constitution's protections they are by creeping incrementalism, day by day, moving the US into their neofascist empire! Promoting fear of the Arabs are just a means to this end

The real fascists who threaten our security

September 1, 2006 05:26 AM Capitol Hill Blue

President George W. Bush and his minions tell the truth when they say the world faces a new and continued threat from fascism. What he doesn't admit is that the fascist leaders who so threatens world peace and safety is he, his administration and any members of Congress - Republican and Democrat - who support his dangerous policies.

Under Bush's watch, the American Democratic Republic has disappeared into a police state where the American government spies at will on its own citizens, detains citizens without basic Constitutional protections and ignores the Bill of Rights as a matter of course.

Constitutional law professor Jonathan Turley of George Washington University says President Bush is guilty of high crimes against the Constitution:

The president is dead wrong. It's not a close question. Federal law is clear. When the president admits that he violated federal law that raises serious constitutional questions of high crimes and misdemeanors.

After a federal judge in Detroit ruled that Bush's use of the National Security Agency to spy on Americans was unconstitutional, Turley said Bush's actions established grounds fo impeachment. Turley is equal opportunity when it comes to impeaching Presidents. He also called for the impeachment of former President Bill Clinton.

But Clinton's crimes pale in comparison to Bush. The current President has consolidated power into the executive office at unprecedented levels, thanks to the obsessive compulsive urging of Vice President Dick Cheney, another megalomaniacal politician for whom power is everything.

Writes Byron York in National Review Online:

In the last several years, there has been much talk about the powerful role Dick Cheney plays in the Bush White House. Some of that talk has been based on anecdotal evidence, and some on entirely fanciful speculation. But Executive Order 13292 is real evidence of real power in the vice president's office. Since the beginning of the administration, Dick Cheney has favored measures allowing the executive branch to keep more things secret. And in March of 2003, the president gave him the authority to do it.

Executive Order 13292 gave Cheney the power to classify and declassify material at will, the first time a President has ever ceded such authority to a Vice President unless the President was incapacitated.

Cheney, working hand-in-hand with former Attorney General John Ashcroft drove the rights-robbing USA Patriot Act through Congress in the days immediately following the September 11, 2001 attacks and served as the Administration's point man on renewal of the act earlier this year.

"The hallmark of the Dick Cheney administration is its illegitimacy. Its essential method is bypassing established lines of authority; its goal is the concentration of unaccountable presidential power," writes former Clinton advisor Sidney Blumenthal. "When it matters, the regular operations of the CIA, Defense Department and State Department have been sidelined."

Blumenthal continues:

His rhetoric is like a paving truck that will flatten obstacles. Cheney remains undeterred; he has no recourse. He will not run for president in 2008. He is defending more than the Bush record; he is defending the culmination of his career. Cheney's alliances, ideas, antagonisms and tactics have accumulated for decades.

Cheney is a master bureaucrat, proficient in the White House, the agencies and departments, and Congress. The many offices Cheney has held add up to an extraordinary résumé. His competence and measured manner are often mistaken for moderation. Among those who have misjudged Cheney are military men -- Colin Powell, Brent Scowcroft and Wilkerson, who lacked a sense of him as a political man in full. As a result, they expressed surprise at their discovery of the ideological hard man. Scowcroft told the New Yorker recently that Cheney was not the Cheney he once knew. But Scowcroft and the other military men rose by working through regular channels; they were trained to respect established authority. They are at a disadvantage in internal political battles with those operating by different rules of warfare. Their realism does not account for radicalism within the U.S. government.

The making of the Iraq war, torture policy and an industry-friendly energy plan has required secrecy, deception and subordination of government as it previously existed. But these, too, are means to an end. Even projecting a "war on terror" as total war, trying to envelop the whole American society within its fog, is a device to invest absolute power in the executive.

Dick Cheney sees in George W. Bush his last chance. Nixon self-destructed, Ford was fatally compromised by his moderation, Reagan was not what was hoped for, the elder Bush ended up a disappointment. In every case, the Republican presidents had been checked or gone soft. Finally, President Bush provided the instrument, Sept. 11 the opportunity. This time the failures of the past provided the guideposts for getting it right.

The administration's heedlessness was simply the wisdom of Cheney's experience.

It is the unending lust for power that drives men like Dick Cheney and George W. Bush and that lust turns them into the real fascists who threaten the peace of the world today.

Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld and all the other psychopaths of the current administration are correct when they say the world must stand up to the growing threat of fascism.

Their fascism, their totalitarian concepts of government and their threat to a once great nation called the United States of America.

WelKome to my World !!!

In your head
Time to get my brown shirt out of the closet...LOL....LOL:eek:

Questions:

If the USA is of the brink of being a fascist country. Does that mean that Hillary has to continue the tradition?
Or will it all just go away?

pops,
You have a problem, you can't comprehend what is written!

Try sitting down and re-reading the above article written by Constitutional law professor Jonathan Turley of George Washington University who says President Bush is guilty of high crimes against the Constitution.
Byron York in the National Review Online, another expert also chimes in, in agreement here.
Byron York, NR's White House correspondent, is the author of The Vast Left Wing Conspiracy: The Untold Story of How Democratic Operatives, Eccentric Billionaires, Liberal Activists, and Assorted Celebrities Tried to Bring Down a President — and Why They'll Try Even Harder Next Time.

Re-read the article real s-l-o-w-l-y, pops, so your very limited powers of reading comprehension are not overtaxed!

It's really is a good article and written so clearly that only a fool, or two in this case, couldn't see ..........

Heaven, definately Heaven
Well with Bush Jr's "psychological appointments" to the Doctor, that he doesn't like, we know he's incapacitated and will eventually be impeached or forced to resign.
