A lot of the humour about Bush was, I think, based on the idea
that he didn't really win the 2000 election.

It was cooI to make fun of him because he really didn't represent America. Now that he really is "the peoples choice", I'm wondering if it will put a damper on Jon Stewart and other satirists.

Also wonder if American pop culture will be less appealing to
Europeans now that America has shown it's "true colours".

Finally will the failure of Michael Moore and Bruce Springsteen to topple the Bush presidency adversely effect their careers?

Where do you see US pop culture going for the next four years?

I don't see much change. People who made fun of Bush will continue to make fun of Bush. American pop culture will be loved and hated as it has always been. Nothing will happen to the careers of Moore or The Boss.

However I do wish people like Moore and Stewart and other satirists tone it down. I winced as they aggressively made fun of Bush and his supporters because I feared that instead of "showing them the light" they'll just pissed them off and help really Bush supporters.

U.S. pop culture will continue to be just that - pop culture and hence utterly meaningless.
Yeah, but it sure seems to make quite a big impact around the rest of the world.

Do you think that these Hollywood activists are only protesting Bush because they feel it would boost their appeal around the world? It's not like they are political science majors.

Here
Nothing will change on the surface as a result of the Bush re-election, but I agree that the non-stop bashing and satire by the media and Hollywood Leftists ironically provided the motivation for his core supporters to turn out in record-setting numbers.

The icing on the cake is that this rally of support not only elected Bush, but it also helped him gain control over both houses of Congress! Thanks Jon Bon Jovi, thanks Bruce Sprinsteen, thanks John Stewart and a special thanks to Michael Moore.

I find it odd that a "dislike" for the antics of "entertainers" could inspire or sway anyone to vote for the party which the entertainers oppose.

I've read that some folk think Moore is a bully. I find that somehow ironic given the subject matter of Farenheit 9 11. I mean, Micheal Moore is, in essence, just some passionate dude with a camera crew.

Actually, I do relate to people's possible motivation on some level as although I like Micheal Moore's films for what they are, I never really had any real fondness for the fellow, but the more people seem to despise (or fear) him, the more I appreciate him. However, he wasn't running for POTUS and my emotions certainly wouldn't sway my opinion.

To accept Farenheit 9 11 at apparent face value would be just plain silly, but to pass it off as having no element of truth is ludicrous. What are people afraid of ?

My apologies for somewhat straying from the topic - just some thoughts that have been on my mind.

I think most people find it funny that just because someone if famous that their political views should carry more weight than Carlton the doorman. Famous people have access to the media that Carlton just doesn't have.

As for Moore - it's just one-sided propaganda, line up a string of selective facts with a voice over and you can push any wild conspiracy theory you want.

I think jon stewart, (this hour, air farce, etc.) will still take shots at whatever easy target presents itself. Don't think that if kerry was elected, stewart wouldn't be taking shots at him.

ps. it's funny HeeHee
