Picked up a copy of Descent..... works on my PC, my portable dvd player but not in my PS2. I get a message something along the lines of "this TV does not support this format"

Is this a result of the disk not being region free? I mean I know that technically a foreign DVD say from Europe won't work in a region coded dvd player.

I used DVD Fab then burnt a new disk but still the same problem.

Is there anything else I can try?

Next I'll try DVDDecryptor and if that doesn't work maybe DVDShrink.....

dvd help

there a site called http://www.videohelp.com/

Its a great source for anything.!

I used tp play movies in our PS2.

You have to do a search on ps2 it will tell you different media thatworks
with ps2 or anything else.
You might want to also try downloading a free file called dvd identifier
which will tell you the media code of your blank media.

have your PS2 been hacked? If the answer is no then PS2 will not play recordable DVD.
Not true mine is unmodded and I've played plenty of burnt dvds on it. Using dvd shrink, dvd fab, dvd decryptor over the years. Once in a blue moon when one doesn't work it usually has to do with coming from Britain?!!? Go figure.

Which version of PS2 do you own? My 1st gen PS2, my slim PS2 will not play any DVD-R until they're hacked to play copied games. Only then they'll play my DVD-R.

Niot sure I bought it from Walmart some 4 years ago? I watch movies that I've burned all the time. DVD-R is usually the blank media that I buy. Is it possible it's a region thing did you buy yours in asia or eurpoe? My PS2 is the old big one vs the new skinny one

Could very well be a region thing.
Do you know if you may have burnt a PAL version of the movie?

That's what I'm thinking is that it's a region thing which explains why it works on my computer and my cheapo portable player but not on the PS2 is there a way to fix this? Or just plug my portable into the TV
