Canadian Tire had a huge selection when I went to replace mine. Id go check it out there first before going to a specialty place. But as suggested it might be seasonal and usually at CT the selection are generic universal parts. If you want a true replacement you might have to order from the manufacturer

There's a place in Newmarket called the Appliance Shack that carries alot of different BBQ burners.

You might also try a search on redtoronto.com

Home Depot also carries replacement burners that fit most gas bq's.

In woodbridge, Langstaff Rd. between Hwy 400 and Jane north side. All types of BBQ and parts. Last time I was there I saw a BBQ worth over $15,000.00. I don't even eat that much meat in a lifetime!

in scarborough, there's a bbq parts place called Rerrie's Bait & Tackle which is also a pretty comprehensive BBQ parts place, at least it used to be! it's been there for ages!

Onward Manufacturing is the largest importer and distributor of BBQs and parts in Canada. Located in Kitchener - call their customer service - they can probably direct you to a retailer.

Thanks for the suggestions..... not so much concerned about if it's the Sunbeam version..... so long as it works. I care more about the quality of the burner in terms of construction and materials. Looking at the old one I can see how thin the metal is and that's why I want to go the cast iron route. I'm a firm believer in not skimping on this sort of stuff. Past experience has shown me that the cast iron ones far outlast the cheap aluminum ones.

way out in left field
Not that I know everything but I've never heard of a cast iron burner for any type of stove/bbq.....99.9% of the ones I've seen are all stainless steel and often cost as much as the bbq itself.

Good luck on the cast iron ones....post here if you find one.

ok, so I did a little research and they are available, one learns something new everyday!
