Yes, I have never understood how that series of ads got past the concept stage.

I got it right away. They are making fun of McDonalds' overuse of McDonaldland characters. Part of their satire though is to use adults who are just as accepting of The King as kids are of Ronald.

The ad agency is one to take risks. They feel it's better to be a bit disturbing and be talked about than be conservative and forgettable.

The guy's girlfriend/sister/SP gets abducted and replaced by Burger 'King' while cycling thru a dark tunnel. Give him a Whopper. Disturbing.

A man opens his drapes to find a trespasser in a rather menacing costume peeping in his window. If you try that in Texas you better have a bullet proof vest Burger King Dude. I'm not sure who they are targeting or what message they want to convey but all it managed to do is creep me out. I guess I can’t knock the King to much, I’m not the one laying on the beach with Brooke Burke.

The background audio has A-ROD moaning something about the "special" sauce. This is getting even weirder by the minute.
